LynBDesigns - From the Ashes & The Violet of Shy-Town

Hello hello! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine (or avoided the sun if you're like me!). Today I have some swatches of polishes I received from my wonderful friend Becca of A Certain Becca Nails. These polishes are from LynBDesigns, a brand from Michigan in the US. LynBDesigns is completely new to me so I was excited to see what the polishes were like. Read on to find out more!

Now I'm not going to lie, the main thing that drew me to this brand was the TARDIS in the logo! If you know me at all then you'll probably know I'm a big Doctor Who fan so I was never going to be able scroll past a polish with that on the front of it. This first polish is called 'From the Ashes' and I believe it was a secret exclusive at PolishCon last year. It's a very pale nude holo with bronze/orange flakes and shimmer. It was very sheer so this swatch actually shows four coats with topcoat but the overall formula was lovely.

The second polish is 'The Violet of Shy-Town' and it was one of the final polishes of the Road to PolishCon last September. It was described as "a violet crelly with holo flakes and a pink/orange/yellow shimmer". We all know I love purple so of course I think this is beautiful, especially with that gorgeous shimmer! This also had a great formula and was easy to apply so I'm very pleased I asked Becca to order it for me. My swatch shows two coats with topcoat.

I basically already knew I was going to like 'The Violet from Shy-Town' because it was purple but I was actually quite surprised by how much I liked 'From the Ashes'. I wasn't sure if it was a shade that would suit me as I'm so pale but I bought it anyway as I hate only having one polish from a brand.. Would anyone else do that or is it just me haha! Despite the fact it took a few coats to become fully opaque, I thought it was a lovely polish and very pretty! If you're not bothered about seeing some visible nail line then obviously you could just do two coats and that would be fine.

I won't be ordering from them anytime soon due to shipping costs etc. (if they even post to the UK?), but I'd definitely recommend trying their polishes if you ever get the opportunity! Beautiful polish and a love for nerdy things like Doctor Who? Sounds like a winner to me!

What did you guys think? Have you ever tried LynBDesigns before?
