Charming Tale Camelot Collection

Today is a very exciting day for blog posts obviously, first my Doctor Who nails and now I have some swatches of the new collection from Charming Tale. This is the Camelot Collection and only came out two weeks ago. I had planned to use them as soon as I got them but because I've been busy like I said in my previous post, I've only just had a chance to try them out.

All of Time and Space

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in so long, life and uni has all been so busy the past few weeks. This post is for my nails that I did to go to the Doctor Who Festival on the 14th November. I had an absolutely amazing day and I loved my nails!

Drive Me N(egative space)avy

Hey guys, it's been a while I know but I'm back now! Hopefully anyway... This is a post for some nails I did last week while back at home. If you follow me on Instagram then you will probably have already seen them, if you don't follow me...then why not?! Nah of course I'm just kidding but if you do want to follow me then you can find me here

Witches Hats & Cats

Hello again! This post is for my second and last Halloween mani of the year haha! Sorry I've been such a let down this month, it's been busy with starting my second year of uni and I've also struggled with ideas for Halloween hence why the ones I've done have just been recreations of other peoples. But anyway, hopefully next year will be better and...now that Halloween's over, we can get excited for Christmas which, lets face it, is 10x better! This mani is a recreation of this one from Jo at Dahlia Nails. Jo's little cat just looked so cute and as it seemed relatively simple I thought (hoped) I could do it too.

Autumnal Matte & Studs

Hey guys, sorry it's only a simple mani and short blog post today as I have lots of uni work, boooo!

Charming Tale Fairest Of Them All Collection

Today this post is about Charming Tale's Fairest Of Them All Collection, just in case the title wasn't a big enough clue! Charming Tale is a new UK indie brand based in South-West London and is owned by @leasnails on Instagram. I've actually had these polishes for a few weeks, just never got a chance to swatch them but hey, I got there eventually.

First up is Mistress Of All Evil, a deep purple creme with silver shimmer.

Coloured Ladybirds

This post and mani only really exists thanks to the wonderfully talented @prettyquirkyuk on Instagram. She also has a great blog which you can find here. Basically she did these amazing ladybird nails and as soon as I saw them I fell a little bit in love so hopped onto the MoYou London site, ordered the plate (and one other, shh!) and had a go myself!

Subtle Grey Florals

Started off this post saying I didn't want to get behind with posts and then didn't finish it...here I am two days later haha! This mani was actually kind of unplanned and was just me playing at half ten or something the other night night because I bought a new stamper. After hunting through Sammy from The Nailasaurus' blog to find out what stamper she uses, I bought a double ended Konad stamper for about £5.50 from Amazon and at the moment I'm pretty happy with it!

Crime Scene Nails

Woohoo so today we have my first ever Halloween nails! I went for something simple to start with and got the idea for the design from @banicured_ on Instagram although she used red acrylic paint and I used nail polish.

Autumn Trees

Today I finally have a mani for the new season! This was inspired by Cristie from knightowlnails on Instagram and if you like nail art and don't follow her then you definitely should! She particularly does a lot of great stamping which I am very jealous of.

Return in Purple

Well...I think it's safe to say my second year of uni is very busy! I wish I could do my nails and blog more than I currently am but unfortunately that just isn't an option right now. I'd like to be optimistic and say things will settle down but considering I have January exams I don't think that will happen. Maybe I'll just have to figure out some super organisation thing so I can do everything I want in the limited time I have... Anyway I digress, I finally have some nail art for you! Granted it's only two accent nails that have been stamped but that's better than nothing right?

Danglefoot Polish Haul

Has it really been so long since my last post?! You can tell uni has gotten to me already... I'm only a few weeks in and already have so much to do! Obviously that means what I'm going to do is paint my nails, take photos and then do blog posts haha!

Anyway, so recently Hayley from Danglefoot Polish reopened her shop and had restocked some old polishes and added some new collections which was very exciting! Honestly, before she opened, I went through Instagram looking at all the polishes and made a list of what I was going to buy. I chose Prince Charming from her old Once Upon A Time collection as I'd had no money to buy it when she first released it (and it was purple and sparkly), two out of three polishes from a new limited edition trio and five polishes from the new Phantom of the Opera collection. (Find Hayley's shop here and her Instagram here)

Barry M Limited Edition Sparkling Gelly Polishes

Helloo! I'm back today with another swatch/review post, yippee! I will get back to doing nail art at some point but I just have so many new polishes at the moment, it's going a bit crazy, especially as I've just started uni again. Anyway, today I'm going to be talking about the two limited edition sparkling polishes that Barry M have just released from their Gelly collection exclusive to Superdrug.

First up is Sparkling Amethyst, a super shiny, sparkly deep purple.

Freckles Polish Review

Hello! Massive apologies for the seriously long absence, it was unplanned and there wasn't really a lot I could do. However I definitely have a great comeback post! Today I'm going to be reviewing my first ever little haul from Freckles Polish and showing you some b-e-a-utiful photos.

First up is Reign Supreme, a gorgeous grey holo!

31DC2015: Violet

I was really excited to do this day as purple is my favourite colour and I have quite a few purple polishes. I attempted the dry brush technique for the first time and I'm unsure as to whether I like what I've done.

31DC2015: Blue

Okay yeah so I'm still trying to catch up. It's now day seven and I haven't painted today's black and white nails yet! However this post is for day five. I went for something simple as I'd been busy and used a couple of polishes I hadn't used yet.

Sunday 6 September 2015

31DC2015: Green

As I have quite a few green polishes I wanted to something that would allow me to use all of them so I decided on spots as unbelievably, I haven't done them for a while.

31DC2015: Yellow

I knew I wouldn't be on time with this challenge...and I'm only 6 days in! I do have a good excuse; I've been getting ready to move/moving in to my new house at uni! Anyway, Thursday's prompt was yellow so I decided I would attempt to do a gradient butterfly design.

Thursday 3 September 2015

31DC2015: Orange

The title of this post is probably very confusing if you don't follow me on Instagram (if you don't and you want to, you can find me at @polisheddreams_). Basically I decided to take part in The 31 Day Challenge which involves painting your nails each day with help from a prompt. Goes a little bit like this...

I haven't posted my red nails for day one on the blog because honestly, they were terrible. I had to do them late because it was a busy day so that already meant the lighting would be bad for the photos, then I couldn't get the polish off my cuticles for some reason and then I went and smudged one of the nails on a box. So yeah, went really well! Day two went slightly better so these I will show you.

Marble Negative Space

Hello! This is will be the last post for a few days as I'm away til Monday for a family friends wedding anniversary. Today I had a go at something new: negative space and some sort of marbling effect (at least that's what I'm calling it because I'm not actually entirely sure what it is).

Pink Waterfall

Yay, I'm finally back to doing nail art! Today I did my second waterfall mani, all in pink, as an entry for Polished by Leanne's competition that she is currently running on Instagram (It ends tomorrow so if you want to check it out and enter, do it quick!). You can find her Instagram here. She also has a great blog that she only recently started which you can look at here.

Mystery Danglefoot Nail Polishes

Hello! Once again it has been a while... But hey it's summer, we're all busy doing stuff now and again. One thing that happened this week was my birthday! Yes, I am finally 19. Last year of being a teenager...scary! Anyway, another exciting thing that happened was my mystery nail polishes arrived from Hayley at Danglefoot Nail Polish. I've put the link in for her shop, however she is currently closed. I want to say it's until October but I definitely could have just made that up woops.

Hayley sent me four very different polishes and I feel so lucky because I honestly love them all! She also gave them the most amazing names after looking through my Instagram and discovering I was a (big) fan of Doctor Who. I won't say much about them individually as this post is going to be pretty photo heavy. All you need to know is that I love them and I will definitely be buying more!

Barry M Speedy Get Set Go

So today's post accidentally ended up being a swatch as I'm not feeling very well. I did the base for my nails but then realised I really didn't have the effort to do anymore.

Speedy Leopard Print

Yay I've finally got round to doing this blog post, only a couple of days later than planned! This mani was inspired by Hannah Weir from The Nail Trail who you can find on Instagram here. I've done leopard print one or two times before but not since I started created Polished Dreams.

Simple Spots

Hello! It's been a while I know and I'm sorry. It's been a combination of things really; no time, nail art going wrong and also lack of ideas. Or maybe it's just so many ideas I don't know what to do first! Anyway as a result of this, today's mani is very simple..

Sunday 9 August 2015

Galaxy Nails

Hello! This post is very late thanks to technical problems and the fact I went out to be sociable yesterday (go me!). I had planned to do a mermaid-like mani with my new stencils I bought from She Sells Seashells but after the first nail ended terribly I panicked and attempted galaxy nails for the first time instead.

Saturday 8 August 2015

Kiwi Queen

Well today's post is definitely a late one, it's now half past 12 at night woops. I've been busy! But hey guess what..I bought more nail polish on Thursday. Barry M on offer in Superdrug is a dangerous thing! The mani in today's post features three of those new polishes.

Wednesday 5 August 2015

Dainty(ish) Florals

This post is just a short one to follow up from my posts on Instagram on Sunday and also because I didn't want to take off my floral mani from yesterday! My little sister asked me to paint her nails based on this design by Dahlia Nails so that's what I did! (or at least attempted to do)

Flowers in Bloom

Today's design is very bright and summery - the total opposite of the weather we are currently experiencing here in England! Florals are definitely a big favourite of mine and not just for nail art so I'm actually quite surprised it's taken me this long to do a floral based design. This post will be quite photo heavy compared to usual so I'll try not to write too much.

Barry M Coconut

Yesterday I went into town and of course ended up buying some more nail polish so I thought it was about time I did a swatch. I chose Coconut from Barry M as it's the base for my next mani and I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Holiday Blues

Wahey! This is the first time I've had a theme for my nails and it's all worked out pretty well. So today (Monday) is a week since I got home from my holiday in Turkey and I can't begin to explain how much I wish I was still there leading to the idea for 'holiday blues'. Whilst at Turkey we went out for dinner to Waterfall Restaurant, so named because an actual waterfall sits in the middle of all the tables and chairs. I attempted to do a waterfall mani before I went away but because I didn't have any acetone to clean my brushes it didn't work out too well so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try again - this time with acetone!

Sunday 2 August 2015

Purple Trio of Dots

Two weeks later and I'm back! Didn't plan to be gone this long as I actually had gel nails done for my holiday but ended up breaking my phone while in Turkey and I didn't take my camera so I was unable to take any photos.. And then of course by the time I came home, what with all the chlorine from the pool, my nails weren't really in the best state to be taking pictures of. But anyway I'm back and I do have a new mani!

Wednesday 15 July 2015

Lots of Dots

Andd hello again! Second post of the day is about the mani I currently have on. I'd planned to do a stripe waterfall mani but after things ended badly due to complications with cleaning brushes, I took it all off, started again and ended up with this:

Hearts & Flowers

This is post one of two today you lucky people. Mostly making up for my absence Sunday and Monday and also because of that absence, there's been missed mani's! Firstly we have my nails from yesterday. I kept this simple as I wasn't really sure what to do.

Supersonic Diamonds

Sorry for the really late post today.. I was in Bath Sunday, Cardiff yesterday and then today my laptop has been playing up. Typical eh? Anyway, this post is about my mani that I had yesterday.

Saturday 11 July 2015

Summer Florals and Polka Dots

What day is it? It's new mani day! Painting my nails is definitely becoming more of an obsession than it was before.. While I was doing todays nails my sister walked in and said "You're painting your nails? AGAIN?!". That sums it up really doesn't it. Pretty much all I've done the past few days is look at different nail bloggers and it's been great fun. Anyway, onto the nails!

Friday 10 July 2015

Happy Birthday Jem!

I wasn't really sure what to post today but then I remembered it was my dogs birthday and decided I couldn't be the only person who liked knowing about and seeing other peoples pets. So here we are, Jem is a Springer Spaniel and today he's 10 years old!

Skittle Mani Inspired by Dahlia Nails

So yesterday I discovered the nail bloggers Dahlia Nails and while browsing through their photos I came across their pastel skittle mani for Pride using some of the Barry M Speedy Quick Dry nail polishes and the matte topcoat. I instantly fell in love and already being a massive fan of these nail polishes I decided to have a go for myself.

Gradient Nails with Barry M Speedy Quick Dry

First post of the blog is about some gradient nails I did last night. I'm pretty sure I spent a couple of hours doing them but I was browsing the internet/social media at the same time so I wasn't exactly rushing.
