Barry M - Molten Metal Collection '18

Hi everybody! If you follow me on Instagram then you know I've had a totally crazy month or two hence the lack of posts! I have finally submitted my dissertation so will be officially graduating in September, had my birthday last week so now I'm at the ripe old age of 22 (woo!), been on a little trip to Edinburgh with my lovely boyfriend and next week I start my new job! I can't believe how quickly it's come round and I'm so excited. Today I found out that I will be working on the specialist personality disorder ward which I imagine is going to be a challenge but so interesting and rewarding. Anyway, as exciting as that is for me, I'm sure you're here to read about nails so let's crack on shall we? Today I have the four new additions to the Molten Metal collection from Barry M. Read on to find out more!

The first I'm going to share with you is 'Celestial Silver'. This is a dark silvery grey holo with a blue shift and some tiny silver flakies. I know what you're thinking...holo, shift and flakies in a mainstream polish? What is this madness! Lots of people, including myself, have recently commented on how Barry M are stepping up their game and coming out with some new and exciting things and this polish is just more proof of that! When I say new, I obviously mean new for high street brands. Obviously I know our beloved indie brands have been coming out with exciting polishes for years! 'Celestial Silver' had a great formula and although it started out a little sheer, it built up nicely with the second coat and became completely opaque. It is shown here in two coats with topcoat.

Next up we have 'Antique Gold', a deep burgundy with gold shimmery flakes. Burgundy is always a popular colour for autumn and those gold flakes just make it that little bit extra special. I'm not actually sure if these polishes were released as an official 'Autumn Collection' hence the vague post title (LOL) but they definitely work well for the season! Again this polish had a great formula and was surprisingly opaque in the first coat. I think if you had shorter nails than myself and didn't want such a deep colour then you could easily get away with one coat. The swatch below shows two coats with topcoat.

The third and the brightest polish of the four is 'Crystal Blue'. This is a stunning bright blue with tiny green flakies and is possibly my favourite of the lot! I think this is a perfect mermaid polish without even meaning to be haha! Yet again a great formula and super easy to apply. My swatches show two coats with topcoat.

Lastly I have 'Pink Luxe', a pale pink with a gold flakie shimmery finish. This started off quite sheer but built up nicely with the second coat. It's probably my least favourite of the four but then light pinks have never really been my thing. Swatch shows two coats with topcoat.

So, what can I say about these? I absolutely love them all! Great finish, great formulas, just so beautiful! If you like the look of any of these polishes then I definitely recommend you get them!

You can find these four and the others from the Molten Metal Collection online at Barry M and Superdrug (and in-store!) for the amazing price of £3.99. I have swatches of some of the other polishes here and here

Thank you for reading!
