31DC2015: Yellow

I knew I wouldn't be on time with this challenge...and I'm only 6 days in! I do have a good excuse; I've been getting ready to move/moving in to my new house at uni! Anyway, Thursday's prompt was yellow so I decided I would attempt to do a gradient butterfly design.

I painted a white base using Matt White and then did the gradient using Stop the Clock and On Your Marks all from Barry M. The wings and white spots were done with the black and white nail art pen. Looking at other people's butterfly nails I realised I probably should have done the spots bigger but I think they look just about okay.

I'm definitely going to be trying this again with other colours and also drawing the wings with a brush to see if I can get smoother lines. Yellow is not normally a colour I'd use as I'm so pale so it was interesting to see how these turned out. What do you think of them?
